Teal Gamble (Pemberton)

Teal Gamble (Pemberton)

Teal Pemberton, 55, passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019 after a brief illness.

A resident of Ardmore, Oklahoma for almost 20 years, Teal served Noble Research Institute for almost two decades. She was a devoted wife and mother, and an active community volunteer.

Marda Teal Pemberton was born Dec. 30, 1963, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Billy Mack and Marda Lea Gamble. She spent her youth in Tulsa and graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1982. During school, Teal was a member of the pompom and cheer squads, and the softball team, which won the 1979 ASA National Tournament Girls Fast Pitch Junior Division Championship. An avid reader and enthusiastic learner, Teal frequented the Dean’s Honor Roll during her school years.

Teal attended Abilene Christian University (ACU) after high school. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration, while at ACU. She also met her husband, Ray Pemberton, in the student store. The pair dated for five years, while they finished their undergraduate degrees.

Teal and Ray wed on April 8, 1989, and lived in Abilene. Teal worked for Hendrick Medical Center from 1990-1997. She served in various positions before being promoted to assistant director of human resources.

On Jan. 15, 1995, Teal and Ray welcomed son, Raymond Samuel Pemberton, to the family. The Pembertons moved to Oklahoma City two years later. Teal was accepted into the University of Oklahoma College of Law, earning her Juris Doctorate in 2000.

In September of that same year, the family relocated to Ardmore, Oklahoma, where Teal became the director of human resources for Noble Research Institute (formally known as The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation).

In addition to supporting her family and her active career, Teal volunteered throughout her community, serving on volunteer boards and various professional association boards.

Teal’s hobbies include reading and studying genealogy. A lifelong learner, Teal returned to ACU to earn a master’s degree in mediation and conflict resolution in 2016.

Teal was a joy to know growing up. She always had a smile and was a positive influence on all who knew her. I'm not surprised one bit reading about her positive life choices and being a compassionate problem solver for other's, and community volunteer. Most importantly I'm glad to read about her strong faith, assuring all other's who have put their faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior, that we will see Teal in Heaven.

My sincerest condolences to her family and loved ones.
