A memorial ceremony celebrating the life of Dene Stone will be held 2 PM Friday, May 6, 2022 at the Rivercrest Chapel in Bixby. Dene passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 28, 2022 at her Broken Arrow residence. She was 58 years old.

Born February 4, 1964 in Big Spring, Texas, Dene was the daughter of Robert Noel Donceel and Sandra Ann (Connelly) Donceel. Dene lived several places throughout her childhood while her father pursued a career in the U.S. Air Force. She was an active gymnast during her early years, at one time receiving consideration for the Olympics. Dene graduated from Nathan Hale High School in Tulsa with the Class of 1982.

Dene earned her college degree in Graphic Art Design and Associate in Applied Science from Tulsa Community College as well as many professional credentials, all while pursuing her growing career. Dene really enjoyed the positions she held with Quicksilver Graphics and Corporate Express. Dene was most recently employed by the Cherokee Nation Aviation Division until her health prohibited her from working. Through this position, she really enjoyed her time spent as an auditor in Ft. Benning, Georgia. Her professionalism was well respected by her coworkers as well as the military personnel on the base.

Dene was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. May her memory be everlasting in the ears and minds of all who loved her.

Surviving family include her husband, Steve Stone; son, Derek Stone and wife, Becky; and her brothers, Clifford Donceel and wife, Stacie; Kurt Donceel and wife, Becky; stepmother, Sandy Lee Donceel; step- sisters, Terri Miller and husband, Jeff; Angela Baldwin; her beloved grandchildren, Lexi Lowen and Jacob Stone; nephews, Tyler Stone; Joe Stone; Steven Donceel; Spencer MacKenzie; Austin MacKenzie and Mason Jarvis and niece, Tiffany Donceel; along with many great nieces and nephews.
